I use technology for everything. Any type of question I have I turn to some form of technology for the answer. I use some form of technology everyday, most of the time I can barely take my face away from my phone. Technology helps me do school work. whenever I have to do a paper I look up a few facts about what I'm writing about on Google first then start writing. I also use technology for entertainment, I mean I watch Sponge bob everyday so I definitely use technology to entertain myself. I sometimes use technology to help me clean. I use technology to get connected with social media too, I'm always on social media which is different because I used to hate all types of social media. I couldn't stand social media it used to be banal to me. Now though I cant stop myself from getting on a social media website. No matter who you are, chances are you have or still do use technology in some way to benefit your everyday life. 

Could I turn off social media, cell phones, video games, and TV and still function? 

Hmm, no, probably not. I've just gotten so used to having all these things and growing up with them that it would be kind of hard for me to lose them all one day. If push comes to shove though I think I could possibly get used to it. I don't think anyone could live in a world without technology though. We've just gotten so used to having these things that life without them would be impossible. Ive seen movies where they've loss electricity and technology, and they've adapt, but if it really happened in real life, I think a few billion would die before we could learn to live without it. I also think we would spend the first few year trying to figure out how to turn the technology on before we start trying to figure out how to live without it in our lives.
 

Is technology a blessing or a curse?

I think of  Technology as a blessing, but I can think of some ways that it could be a curse. Technology makes everything so much easier, but it also made people forget how to do things for themselves. I bet there are few people who can live without technology which is bad, because one day we may have to.

Something That Gets Me Through every Soccer Game.

As I go through school I see that there are only two roads you can go through. The first road is the positive road. The second road is the negative road. As I was going through high school one of my coaches would always tell me “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future”. As a freshman back then I didn’t really know what it meant but then I finally figured out what it meant and that was if you want to be successful then the people you hang around should also want to be successful but the same thing goes for people who want to take the negative room. For me I kept friends who wanted the same thing I wanted and those goals were to get good grades, graduate and play college Soccer. We all accomplished that goal. As I go through college it’s a lot more different then how it was in high school. You’re on your own, no parents, no one to look after you. It’s just you! To get through college its I just think about what’s my reason to be here and that’s to get a head start in life making my family proud and also making a better life for a family that I plan to start in the future. Here at Muskingum I’ve found people who want the same thing that I want so when I’m feeling lazy or don’t want to work or get up for class they push me and motivate me to do it. There are a lot of distractions in school such as girls, parties, drugs etc. but I always think about how I’m the first person in my family to go off to college and I also think about my little brothers and what kind of example I want  to set for them. When I talked to a few people who were in college some would say it’s easy some would say it’s hard and some would say its just school. Growing up I had a strong work ethic so I use that to my advantage helping me get papers done before they’re due and not procrastinating. I try to not let school take over me meaning that I won’t let school stress me out or consume all of my time so I’ll go work out or hang with my friends and if I get a bad grade I won’t act like it’s the end of the world ill just find out what I did wrong and fix them. The last thing I’ll do is to have fun and enjoy my time while I’m here in school. People say that college will be the best years of your life and I want to have fun. But at the same time like my dad would always tell me there’s a time and place for everything so there’s a time to have fun and there’s a time to get serious and get your work done.

My life as Both a Soccer Player and A College Student

            Academically I am doing very well in college, much better than I did academically in high school. In high school I maintained around a 2.9 GPA. Right now in college I’m maintaining a 3.85 GPA, so college is going very well for me so far.

What I’m doing the best so far is time management. I always set aside time to study, and do homework. My strategy for time management is to study and do work for 30 minutes to an hour then take a break for an hour or two and then come back to my work. This strategy has worked well for me so far, we’ll see if it still works for me when I take my harder classes. There are a lot of things that have helped me progress academically in college. One of the biggest categories that has helped me progress academically in college is the fact that I have found a group and a wide variety of good people to hang out with. As I was going through high school one of my coaches would always tell me “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future”. As a freshman back then I didn’t really know what it meant but then I finally figured out what it meant and that was if you want to be successful then the people you hang around should also want to be successful. I have different friends that I hang out with in different situations. I have friends that I study with, I have friends that I party with, and I have the friends that I just typically hangout with all the time. Making good friends has definitely helped me out socially and academically.  The last big part that has helped me academically is getting close with my teachers, so that they all know my face. I usually try to answer questions, participate, and be productive in class. For me participating is the best way for me to learn, so I’m usually near the front of the class answering questions or asking questions. I’ve found that teachers tend to like it better when you participate, and are actually in class rather than just being another body wasting space. My attendance in all my classes is also very good so that also contributes to my academic uprising in college.

I need to improve my writing creativity. For a lot of my classes I am not creative enough or I just can’t turn my thoughts into words. A lot of times I also find myself procrastinating too much. I’ll lay down and put my work off for later. I need to stop doing this. One thing that helps me stop doing this is Soccer. With Soccer I have no extra time to put my work aside for, so I need to do my work when I set my time aside for it. I’m also planning on double majoring in math, and public accounting, so I have no extra time. I’m taking around 18 credits every semester, so I need to teach myself to budget my time and plan properly now.

Should College Soccer Players Be Paid?

There has been gigantic debate recently if college athletes should or shouldn't be paid while they are in school. This blog takes a look into the debate and gives you an explanation as to why they should be paid.

                        The first thing people say is, "They're already getting a scholarship! That's more than anybody else! Don't be greedy!" Ok well let’s take a look at how much a college scholarship is really worth. On average a full division 1 scholarship is 25,000 dollars. A 25,000 dollar scholarship may seem like a lot of money, but it really only covers the nuts and bolts. A few thousand goes to unknown university fees in which we really don’t know how that’s used. Then you have about $12,000 going to tuition, another $5,000 going towards room and board. Lastly you have to spend around $1,000 or so on text books and most scholarships don’t cover that so you have to buy that on your own. A scholarship doesn't equal cash in a player's pocket. Even with a scholarship, college athletes are penniless, while the NCAA executives make well over a million dollars per year.

The NCAA currently produces nearly $11 Billion in annual revenue from college sport. That’s more than the estimated total league revenues of both the NBA (National Basketball Association) and the NHL (National Hockey League). The NCAA is making all this money but can’t afford to pay their Athletes for all the time they put into their sport. Universities bring in millions of dollars to their school through donations, ticket sales, media rights, advertising, and anything else that can make them money and the players don’t receive a single penny of it. Universities promote their school using athletics and the players still receive absolutely nothing.

According to Mark Edelman “The typical Division I college football player devotes 43.3 hours per week to his sport, 3.3 more hours than the typical American work week.” Being a college athlete is a full-time job. On a typical day, a player will wake up before classes, get a lift or conditioning session in, go to class until 3 or 4 p.m., go to practice, go to mandatory study hall, and then finish homework or study for a test.

Snow Is Putting an End To Russian Soccer Slowly, It's Making Me Want To Stop Playing Too

Did you know Snow is formed when temperatures are low and there is moisture in the atmosphere. When these tiny ice crystals collide they stick together in clouds to become snowflakes. If enough ice crystals stick together, they'll become heavy enough to fall to the ground, and become a big pile of white Ice we call "Snow." I don't mind the snow, it's the cold I cant take! I hate the cold I just cant take it, my ancestors were from warm places like Africa, this means my ancestors were smart enough to not deal with cold weather. It's the "Boots and winter jacket" type of weather. Me personally, Ill be wearing a pair of boots and a North face, along with two other jackets underneath.
I hate the cold so you wouldn't be surprised of how mad I was when I looked out the window and saw the weather today. It had snowed all night and It was freezing outside with what felt like 100 miles per hour winds. I was furious, especially because I usually don't have classes on Tuesdays or Thursdays, But today of all the days to have classes I did. Oh man today just wasn't my day.
So to begin the day I took a shower, and when I got out I froze my privates off, because they don't turn the heat on in Thomas, I could talk about that forever but Ill save that for another time. So after I got out the shower and got all ready I had to walk all the way to and First Year Seminar class where we do nothing but sit there and talk about how we are doing in class so far. Then After sitting in First Year Seminar class for 30 min I have to walk all the way back to Thomas Hall. On the way back it got so cold I had to take a break, so I decide to grab something to eat at the bait shop. After getting something to eat I start to walk back to Thomas, of all the things that could happen on my way back, I slip and fall face first into the snow! I was Furious, but at the same time I couldn't help but laugh, I mean the irony. After falling in the snow there was no making it back to Thomas, I turned around and watched TV in the rec center until practice started.

A Little Bit of Rap

Basketball is my favorite sport I like the way the way it dribbles up and down the court. No interruption when the game is on, Its like I cant think about anything except basketball. I like slam-dunks that take me to the hoop. My favorite play is the alley-oop. I like the pick-n-roll. I like the give-n-go. When I have the ball in my hands there is no telling what I'm going to do. When the ball is in my possession I might go crazy and act like a fool with it. I might cross you over with a double behind the back spin then bring it back and make a fade away shot in your face like Kobe. I might throw an around the back alley-oop like Rajon Rondo. I might come down the lane and dunk on you like Lebron James. I might Post you up and posterize you like Shaq. Please don't try and guard me I might cross you out your nikes. I'm nice on the court it looks like a free-throw shot when I'm shooting from half court. My game consists of a lot of  different moves,  I could hit the hook shot or dish a no-look pass. I crossed somebody over just last week, I think I made all the cheerleaders want to sing. I wish I was in the building when MJ scored 63, or when Kobe scored 80. I would love to have been there when Vince Carter jumped over that 7 ft guy, or when the Lakers won the championship back to back. Now I'm glad I'm playing basketball, yes I'm glad because I love that basketball. Basketball is a fun time for any person young or old. Basketball is a great way to keep fit and a fun way to have fun with many friends. I love to watch the game but I love even more to play the game. Basketball can be played by anyone. Basketball is the best thing to do with my friends to have fun. Basketball can be a fun and easy way to have fun rather than sitting on the couch all day watching TV. One reason I love basketball is because you need only yourself to play the game, but if you want you can still play the game with others. I prefer to have others to play with rather than just playing alone. You encounter lots of people and you are able to play with your companions for hours without getting uninterested. One thing I love about basketball is that people have many different styles of play.

Title Contenders in England

Leicester City, also called “The Foxes” moved five points clear of second place Tottenham after a 2-2 draw against West Ham United. Leicester City show no signs of giving up on their title dreams.

This season Barclays Premier league season has been the craziest in the history of the Premier League. Leicester City are flying high at the top of the table even as the season comes to an end.

At the beginning of the season, The Foxes “Leicester City” were tipped for relegation following their manager’s appointment in the summer. They proved everyone wrong.

Five consecutive wins against Watford, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Sunderland guaranteed they will finish this weekend five points clear in first place even after the draw they had on Saturday.

Man City, after their home defeat Leicester in February, no longer have any ideas of winning the title. Although they have history of coming back from this kind of position to become champions, right now, they are currently sitting at fourth place with 12 point separating them from the current league leaders.

In 2012, Manchester City trailed Manchester United by eight points with five games to play, they later went on to win the title on the final day. They also pegged back Liverpool in 2014 to win their second Premier League title.

Manchester City still have to face seven top-ten sides in their remaining 12 games, while they are also still alive in the Champions League, and League Cup.

Currently, North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are siting second and third respectively on the league table. They are the only ones within reach of stopping Leicester City from becoming Champions this season. After Christmas, Arsenal were the major favorites to lift their first crown since 2004. But four league games without a win has seen them drop to fourth in the table, and Leicester, and Spurs are building up a head of steam.

But who will come out on top come Sunday 15 May.

Nothing seems to faze this Leicester team, their remaining set of fixtures certainly won’t either.

However, the season-defining games will come late in the season for Leicester City when they travel to defending champions Chelsea and host fellow contenders Arsenal.

Leicester City play the biggest game in their history on Sunday. They visit of Swansea City will offer the greatest of insights into whether they have the stamina, nerve and depth of resources to hold off the challenge of Tottenham Hotspur.
